HCG questions
Answers are arithmetic only. Vialwise does not give dosing advice.
How much bacteriostatic water do I add to 5,000 IU of HCG?
There’s no single correct amount. The water only sets the strength: more water means less HCG in each unit, which makes small doses easier to measure. With a 5,000 IU vial, 1 mL gives 5,000 IU/mL, 2 mL gives 2,500 IU/mL and 3 mL gives 1,667 IU/mL. Make sure the amount fits in your vial.
How much HCG is in 10 units?
10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe is 0.1 mL. With 5,000 IU mixed in 2 mL, 10 units holds 250 IU. Mixed in 3 mL, it holds 166.7 IU.
How many clicks is that on a peptide pen?
On a standard peptide pen one click is 0.01 mL, the same as one unit on an insulin syringe. With 5,000 IU in 3 mL, each click holds 16.67 IU. A 3 mL cartridge holds 300 clicks.
Is IU the same as units on the syringe?
No. IU measures the amount of drug; syringe units measure volume (1 unit = 0.01 mL). With 5,000 IU in 1 mL, one syringe unit holds 50 IU.
Which syringe should I use?
Pick the smallest insulin syringe your dose fits in. A 0.3 mL syringe holds 30 units, 0.5 mL holds 50 and 1 mL holds 100, usually marked every 2 units. Smaller barrels spread the marks out, so small doses are easier to read.
