How to reconstitute

General clean technique for freeze-dried (lyophilized) peptide vials. Use new sterile needles and syringes every time.

  1. Gather and wash

Peptide vial, bacteriostatic (BAC) water, alcohol swabs, a syringe for mixing and a sharps container. Wash your hands.

  2. Swab both stoppers

Wipe the rubber tops of the peptide vial and the BAC water vial with alcohol. Let them air-dry.

  3. Draw the BAC water

Draw exactly the amount you chose in the calculator. A 1 mL or 3 mL syringe works for this step.

  4. Add it slowly down the glass

Angle the needle so the water runs down the inside wall. Don’t spray it straight onto the powder.

  5. Swirl, don’t shake

Roll or swirl gently until the liquid is clear. If it stays cloudy or has particles, don’t use it.

  6. Label and refrigerate

Write the name, strength and date on the vial, or print a label from the calculator. Mixed vials are usually kept at 2–8 °C, away from light. Don’t freeze them.

  7. Using a pen

Transfer the solution into an empty sterile 3 mL cartridge, load the pen, attach a new needle and prime until a drop appears.

How much water to add

The water doesn’t change how much peptide is in the vial. It only changes the strength, which decides how many units or clicks one dose takes.

More water makes each unit weaker, so small doses take more units and are easier to measure. Less water keeps doses small in volume. A practical aim is a dose that lands on a whole mark and fills a good part of your syringe.

The calculator’s Cleaner numbers panel lists water amounts that put your dose exactly on a mark.

Storage

Follow the storage instructions from your supplier or pharmacist. Mixed peptides are usually kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C and away from light, and a mixed vial shouldn’t be frozen. The shelf keeps track of when each vial was mixed.
