Semax + Selank
A vial that holds two separate peptides, Semax and Selank, mixed together. Semax is based on a fragment of the pituitary hormone ACTH; Selank is based on tuftsin, a fragment of an antibody protein. Both were developed in Russia. The mix itself has not been studied.
Approval status
Neither Semax nor Selank is approved by the FDA or EMA, and we found no approval for the combination anywhere. FDA notes it is marketed online in the US as a mix, and has flagged gaps in safety information for both.12
What it’s used or studied for
There are no published studies of this combination itself. See the page for each part.
Each label shows how strong the evidence is: an approved use, human studies, animal or lab studies only, or a popular claim with no published studies. Being studied is not the same as being proven safe or effective.
Side effects
Side effects are those of each component; see the Semax and Selank pages. No published study has tested the two together.
A blend carries the side effects and cautions of each of its parts.
Cautions
- The FDA flagged limited safety data and possible impurities and immune reactions for both semax and selank products.2
